This is an international event bringing together junior and senior professionals, students and all others interested in the latest developments and applications of the Unreal Engine.
We bring together the local, regional and internation UE communities, we share knowledge, network and matchmake amazing people, showcase ground-breaking projects and celebrate the power and beauty that UNREAL helps to unleash.
ALL THINGS UNREAL – ALL DAY LONG!
Unreal Day is an initiative of SGA and 3Lateral.
Following the major developments of Unreal Engine over the past years, and the wider adoption of the tool in our surrounding, covering many different creative-tech spheres, we decided to create a meeting point for the community that is already using the tool, as well as for all those interested to do it in the future.
Serbia has a lot to offer when it comes to talent, both creative and technological, and wish to showcase this to the world. We would also like to welcome global industry leaders, and develop a dialogue.
We have always been open to our peers across the region, and we wanto to engage with them even deeper.
We would like to see Serbia as the hotspot of UE production and talent in the future, and this event is one of the instruments in achieving and nurturing that situation.
UNREAL DAY is organized by the Serbian Games Association, in collaboration with 3Lateral, which is part of Epic Games.
However, it is by no means limited to the game dev domain. UE is a tool used in a variety of industries and creative applications, hence this event is a platform to showcase the multitude and plentitude of UE usages across the domains.
Needless to say, we will do our best to establish new connections & collaborations between them!
Unreal Day is an independent, third-party event NOT organized directly by Epic Games.
However, the event is powered by and sponsored by Epic Games and 3Lateral, as the main partners. The program is also co-curated by 3Lateral. Other industry partners also do get involved.
On the other hand, Unreal Fest events are organized directly by Epic Games and their teams, and have a global coverage and reach, with events spanning several continents and taking place throughout the year.
Check Epic Games events page for more information.
With origins of the 3Lateral company, and in big part the Metahuman technology, are in Serbia, hence there has been a significant presence of Epic Games in our country over the recent years.
What has become clear is that one of the most exciting and motivated UE communities in Europe and this part of the world is thriving in Serbia.
With the combined efforts of the SGA, 3Lateral/Epic Games as well as other initiatives and academic partners, a plentitude of workshops, mentoring programs and events involving UE are taking place throughout the year, bridging disciplines and connection professionals.
All the while, Epic Games Novi Sad educational hub is attracting global attention with the quality of the projects that young creators are producing there.
Some of the veterans of the global industry visit Serbia from time to time to use the local services, which are in some domains among the best in the world.
In between all this, and beyond game development, Serbia is a powerhouse for cinematic production and post-production, animation and various VFX services. Not to mention the production of movies and series themselves.
With everything combined, you can only imagine the energy buzzing in this creative powerhouse. Our goal is to add as many logs to the fire as possible, to make it burn even brighter and to bring in friends, colleagues and peers to join us for the ride.
All the while, the Epic Games R&D facility in Novi Sad is under construction.
We are convinced that we have just scratched the surface!
Unreal Day started as a half-day event, in which morning were reserved for workshops co-presented with our academic partners, and the afternoon showcase program open to the general and professional audience.
We strive to expand both the scale and the quality of the program, and thus from 2024 Unreal Day is a full-day conference program, packed with amazing content and lectures.
As the conference now takes up all of the day, and as we try to minimize the level of program overlaps, we decided to use the previous day as a “prequel” of sorts, when all of the workshops happening outside of the main venue will take place.
We also like to use the presence of peers and colleagues from around the world to connect them to local professionals, so some special networking activities and studios visits may be happening on the day before and after the actual Unreal Day.
Registration is mandatory for all of the participants.
No matter if you plan to attend only one workshop in the “prequel” program on Oct 23rd, or the entire program on the 24th – there is a registration form for everyone.
Please visit our Register page.
Note that you may need to register twice, for example if you plan to attend one of the entry-level workshops AND the general half-day program.
There are a few different deadlines, but it is still quite simple:
The final deadline for registering for both the Professionals’ Full-Day Program and the General Half-Day Program is OCTOBER 18th.
This is also the deadline for all those purchasing tickets for the Professionals’ Full Day Program.
The deadline for registering for entry-level workshops is OCTOBER 11th.
The deadline for getting your early bird pass at a reduced price is SEPTEMBER 24th.
However, please note that the places are limited for all of these programs, and that they might be all booked up before we reach the deadlines.
So act fast and secure your spot at UNREAL DAY!
Unreal Day is first and foremost an open and inclusive event. In our first two editions, we provided a lot to the community, together with our partners.
30+ lectures, 15+ workshops and much more content.
We also strive to respond accordingly to different parts of our audience, as well as to grow the event into the hotspot for Unreal talent in this part of Europe, and the world.
This is why we need to:
a) separate the more advanced users and professionals for one part of the program from the more junior ones
b) invest in deep-dive programs which will respond to their more specific needs
c) start creating a platform in which professionals can exchange on a peer level and form new creative alliances
All this comes at a cost, and thus we introduced charged tickets for the part of program which offers more technical workshops. We have also done this in order to keep, and even push forward the overall quality of our event.
Finally, in the afternoon program, everyone is together, everyone is equal, and in the spirit pushed forward by the engine itself – knowledge is selflessly shared!
Actually not.
As the programs are free, we require the minimum effort of registering in time for the event.
By visitors registering, we are also following the profile of the audience, and use this information to plan further events.
The official language of the event is English.
No exceptions.
Unreal Day is usually attended by around 500 people.
The capacities of the workshops are 12 participants per workshops.
The capacities of masterclasses are 30-40 participants per masterclass.
The capacity of the main room is around 250 visitors.
As different people attend the event in different ways, and as we offer plenty of food for thought and the eyes in the hallways too, we tend to accept up to a total of 500 registrations in order to keep the event functional and enjoyable for everyone.
Depending on the growing interest, we may expand the event in the future, and use a larger venue. But this depens on you, the community using and attending the event.
As with each early bird ticket, not all of the program is revealed, and visitors are taking a “leap of faith” of sorts, given that they trust the event and the organizers.
We plan to publish the 8 masterclass topics by September 20th, so that professional visitors may decide if it is worthwhile for them to purchase tickets.
Of course, you can expect amazing masterclasses from local and international experts, plus there is plenty more things that you acquire by purchasing the full-day pass. Check the registration page!
Also, please note that we are strictly limited to 150 tickets only!
We are working hard on securing the best possible speakers and content for the event, from the previous edition until weeks before the next one.
At the same time, we like to keep some surprises for you as well, so you can definitely expect more exciting announcements from us!
Either way, by OCTOBER 1st we should have the final speaker list available on the site.
We are planning to publish the final agenda and schedule around OCTOBER 1st!
Plenty of time for you to plan your Unreal Day experience.
A new program at Unreal Day, P2P Dev Geekout is a zone with no strict agenda.
It is reserved for all those dwelling deep into the pipes of the engine, problem-solvers and those building their own tools; it is for those developing their project, but encountering major setbacks and barriers; it is for those looking for advice and comfort; for all those looking for comrades to join them on their journeys.
We will set up a big table with many power plugs, and a bug screen with HDMI cable. We will have a moderator, we well-known game creator from the local ecosystem, himself versed in UE and developing games and art with it.
For most of the middle of the day and the afternoon, this will be the area where you can geek out, code together or show and tell for hours on end.
Please get in touch with us if you have a specific proposal for this, project you want to present or a question.

This is a special program taking place before the afternoon Keynotes & Showcase, and is open to everyone (with the general registration, of course).
We will dive into the topics relating to all of you who wish to live off your passion and generate income by your creative endeavours in UEFN, Unreal Engine, asset creation and beyond.
We will focus on some study cases and success stories, we will talk about royalty models and IP, we will touch on brand partnerships, and we will not forget the practical aspects of doing this type of work from inside or outside of the EU (tax, legal, IP…).
We will also touch on how you can grow from a one-man-show to a successful small studio – in case you wish to do so, that is :p
Join us to talk about the sometimes complex economy behind the amazing creativity that is out there.
You are a 3D modeler and asset creator? You have not yet sold any assets on the market place, but wish to do so? You have a profile, but it is not doing that well? You want your models to be even more hi-fidelity? You are not sure what is “trending” in the asset marketplaces?
If you are having any, or all of these questions, then Asset Portfolio Review is the right session to join. Bring your projects on an USB or your own computer, and talk to advanced asset creators from PackDev, Dexsoft and other local teams who are successful on the marketplace. Receive valuable feedback, and get new directions for your work.
Not specifically, but the event welcomes students very much, and tailors parts of its program towards the needs of entry-level users, artists and digital creatives.
The general Keynotes and Showcase program, alongside the Expo Zone and Asset Portfolio Review are more than relevant for students.
On October 23rd there will be four parallel entry-level workshops taking place across Belgrade, and these are ideal for beginners and students.
Of course, and thank you for registering.
All four entry-level workshops will be held in parallel, and will have a similar profile and level of complexity. Some may focus more on specific fields, such as animation or working with UEFN.
This is why we will, based on your registration answers and the available spots, propose a workshop for you to attend.
Don’t worry, we will be in touch with you in due time!
There will definitely be a party to round up the exhausting conference day!
Karmakoma is one of the cooles Belgrade clubs, regularly bringing the cutting-edge of the global club scene to Belgrade.
Entry to Karmakoma club will be free for all Unreal Day participants, while drinks are charged according to the club’s regular price list.

Any team from 9 countries of the CEE, Balkans and Adriatic, working with either UE or UEFN are welcome to join the regional online UNREAL JAM, taking place between Oct 7th and 18th.
The countries in questions are Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Bosnia & Hercegovina, Albania, Bulgaria & Romania.
Please visit the Unreal Jam page for all the details.
On the other hand, the local UEFN game jam taking place in Novi Sad (on Oct 19th+20th) is a physical game jam open for teams from Serbia.
First you need to apply with your team, within the set deadline.
Once your application is accepted, you will join a kickoff call when the THEME of the jam will be announced to all participants.
Over the course of two weeks, you will have mentor support and regular check ins over a dedicated Discord server.
The team of mentors and external associates will evaluate the submitted projects and choose 3 teams who will be shortlisted. These teams will get to attend Unreal Day and pitch in front of an audience, thus competing for the prizes. And lots of glory.
All details and propositions are available at our Unreal Jam page.
In case you are not living in Belgrade, or even Serbia, and your team gets shortlisted for the Unreal Jam pitch, we will cover your costs of coming to Belgrade!
This means travel, accommodation (2 nights), free access to the entire event (Professional Full-Day Program), as well as a pitching workshop on October 23rd in the late afternoon. All on us!
Please note that we can cover the costs for a maximum of 2 (two) team members per team.
If you have any questions about the event your application or anything else, feel free to get in touch with us!
