This masterclass focuses on advanced VFX workflows for MetaHumans using Niagara in Unreal Engine. Participants will learn how to integrate particle systems with skeletal meshes to create region-based effects that respond dynamically to character movement in real time.

 

The session will cover the use of persistent particle IDs, region sampling, and local space emitters for precise FX attachment. Attendees will also explore debugging techniques, scratchpad scripting for custom modules, and optimization strategies for GPU-driven particle systems.

 

A real-world use case with OceanX will be presented, showcasing how MetaHumans were utilized in an immersive project to combine character-driven storytelling with interactive particle simulations.

 

By the end of the workshop, participants will understand how to develop and implement Niagara effects that extend MetaHuman pipelines for real-time production and interactive applications.

We want to see what you’re working on. You can bring your laptop, a USB stick, or send us a link to your GDrive folder/Notion board/Google Slides presentation. HDMI cables and dongles will be available on-site.

 

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?
Share what you’re working on. Ask for feedback. Show us your bug, and we will try to fix it. Everyone participates! You can do this on our small podium, in front of everyone. If you’re more comfortable, stay in your seat and show the people around you. We’re aiming for those game jam vibes of collaboration and support.

MetaHuman 5.6: Beyond the Release

MetaHuman 5.6 is the major update to the MetaHuman product since its original launch in 2021, marking a key milestone as it leaves Early Access.
